Candlelight vigil at Hong Lim Park for the Indian gang-rape victim

Last evening, on the 2nd of January, 2013, many of all race, gender, and age braved the rain and gathered at Hong Lim Park to partake in a vigil for the unfortunate passing of the 23-year-old gang-rape victim.

The shocking attack on the medical student happened in Delhi, India on Dec 16, 2012. Six men have been reported to be detained and accused of rape and murder.

She died of her injuries in a Singapore hospital where she had been sent after battling for ten days in a local hospital in India. Her ashes were scattered on the surface of the river Ganges.

Personally, I believe in capital punishment for the attackers, but above all, I only hope that the victim rest in peace and that the world should show a little more kindness so that this may never happen again.
