In 2012, Sony got the photography world in bunches when they released the RX1 compact camera with a full frame sensor. The only other company that did this before the RX1 and is still in biz now is a particular one called Leica. You might have heard of it and how it costs an arm to own one of its camera bodies and another for one of its legendary lenses.
Look, I am a Leica photographer. I bleed for my art. You've never seen any of my photographs because I have the highest standards and not because I suck.
Anyway, without further ado, let's see what the camera can do in the real world where nobody has money. Most shots were shot in JPEG only because I can't be arsed to find a software to render its proprietary RAW format, and when I found one, it was too painful to use.
If you're asian too, like I am, you'd understand that we need to photograph what we're eating before we actually do. This is to prove our existence. R-Amen.
Milky broth is milky. I heard this is a new way to speak to sound cool, so now I am.
These are probably the longest sticks of Japanese meat/wood you'll ever see.
Look.
Look closer.
This particular flower stood out in a sea of green. See how poetic I am? SEA OF GREEN. AZURE BLUE SKY. XIAO MING AND XIAO HUA GO GAI GAI.
MAGNIFY. ENHANCE.
Some ladies I showed this too mouthed the words "cup" and "ballsac". I should get their numbers.
See how much hair there is to that ballsac of a plant? Very appropriate.
This is the Indochine bar thing in the tallest Supertree at Gardens by the Bay.
This is me going INTO-Chine. Geddit? Geddit? Tickle tickle?
More Supertrees because Singaporeans haven't been spammed enough by images of them.
And if we look closer, people like we've never seen them before on a bridge.
Have I told you how I very much like the colour purple? Now you know.
Purple is a very royal colour. So is yellow. So is my pee.
Look at the CBD looming in the distance in this shot. It's like I'm actually interested.
Details are pretty good even at such magnification. Impressed yet? I'm not. I don't like you, DBS.
What's a blog post in Singapore without a mention of Marina Bay Sands Hotel and its magnificent Skypark? A blog post.
Look. Any closer and I would be anticipating a lawsuit.
Abstract angle sial.
Someone once told me photography is all about light. I love lamp.
See the grain? See the texture? See how much I really don't care about writing well anymore from this point on?
One of my favourite flowers to shoot in the Flower Dome. Did I mention I really like purple?
LET'S DIVE. LOOK AT ALL THE TINY DETAILS OMG MY PANTS.
I'd tell you a story about 7-Up and Fido Dido in order to segue to a comment about his hair resembling this but well.
NO! BRING ME OUT! BRING ME BACK OUT!!!
These are one of the weirdest succelents in the world.
See them hairs? That's the point of this camera I suppose.
FLOWER. DOME. IT'S A DOME. FILLED WITH FLOWERS. I HOPE THIS IS CLEAR ENOUGH.
This pineapple-lookalike tried its best..
..but on closer look, is just sad.
Some friends have said my hair looks like this most of the time.
But if you look closer, you'll realise the previous statement has absolutely no link to this one. Also, tapioca chip.
I really do like cacti.
Cactus be sharp, y'all.
Another one of my favourites. I have no idea what it's called. I'm so mysterious like that.
Would you look at that? Sweet, right? I know.
Rain... feel it on my fingertips, hear it on my WINDOW PANE.... it was the only song I could think of.
If you have nowhere to go this Lunar New Year, the Lunar New Year decorations are up in the Flower Dome for your Facebook and Instagram photo collection.
If at first you don't see it...
....here's another look at it.
This is a Flower Dome. DOME. Seriously I've mentioned the word at least 45 times so far already.
Oh look. A shot at ISO6400 in almost darkness. This is a JPEG. You may pick your jaw off the ground any time this century.
Happy Lunar New Year and enjoy the holidays, everyone. That is all.
